After getting settled into our new house in June 2007, I knew it wouldn't be long before Nick wanted to get a dog. And boy was I right. Before I knew it, Nick mentioned that he would like to go look at some beagle puppies he found on the internet. After work on a Friday afternoon we headed out to Ione to take a look.
When we arrived at the breeders house, we were introduced to the beagle parents: Deuce and Coco-Nut. They were surrounded by a gang of happy, smiling baby beagles. It was hard to choose just one, but after Nick dropped one of the puppies on his head we knew it was meant to be. Nick's victim, who the family had affectionately named Dupree (as in the movie You, Me and Dupree due to his people-loving personality), became the first addition to our family on June 29, 2007. We affectionately re-named him Doug.
