There are some things that I love about Sacramento. One thing I really like is that is we're super close to places people come from all over the world to see: San Francisco, Napa Valley, and Lake Tahoe. This means we're within an hour and a half away from good thriftin', good wine, and good snowboarding. While we may not have a great nightlife or a rich cultural scene, we have options! One weekend you can be at a Giants game watching Lincecum pitch a no-hitter and the next you can be hiking through the Sierra Nevadas with your goofy lab and beagle in tow. Or, there's always the option to stay in Sac. You're bound to find plenty of fun things to do.
We recently went on a Living Social cruise on the Sacramento River. It was Caribbean themed with live music and catered food. Let me tell you, there were some delicious meatballs on that boat. Not like Snooki and Deena type meatballs, but like little tiny balls of meat. I might be making this up, but I think they had some sort of pineapple glaze on them. I basically had two plates full of meatballs. That's in addition to everything else that I ate. I also ate some tasty Cuban barbecued pulled pork sandwiches. But enough about food...
You see, another thing I love about Sacramento is the Tower Bridge. The Tower Bridge spans the Sacramento river, connecting downtown Sacramento to West Sacramento, and on our cruise we got to get up close and personal with it.
The Tower Bridge is a beautiful, fancy gold. There was a lot of hoopla when they painted it, but I'll be damned if it wasn't a good choice. And it's just so handsome. So handsome, indeed. I love the structure and design of the bridge, and it's especially gorgeous at night when it lights up.
What are some of your favorite things about the City you live in?
I love this photo of the tower bridge. I've lived in so many places and this is my favorite. It truly is amazing how many things we can do by just driving 1.5 to 2 hours!
