I Kinda Want a Hot Dog

I don't know if either of these top the first one I already shared, but they're still pretty funny. I hope they keep cranking them out because it's kinda like I'm laughing at myself.

Shit Girls Say - Episode 3

And, by the way, isn't Juliette Lewis gorgeous?

OMG, Shit Girls Say - LOL!

Sorry for that last post with the letter n. I wasn't trying to be all mysterious or anything. It's just that balancing a laptop in my left palm whilst one-handed typing with a beagle hibernating under a blanket on my lap has proven to be a bit difficult.

What I wanted to say is that I can't stop watching this:

I've never felt so understood before in my life.

In Her Shoes

Sometimes people ask me why, since I'm already taller than my husband, do I wear heels? The short answer is: I like heels.

The long answer looks more like this: I like heels. Nick knew this when we met. In fact, I was wearing 3 inch heels when I picked him up in bar on a warm Saturday night in March of 2005. At the time, he didn't seem to have a problem with it. To this day, he's never voiced concern over my love affair with heels. If he did, I'd tell him to kick rocks. I know that sounds mean, but I've always said to myself that I will never give up who I am for someone. I am heels and heels are me. So, you see, we cannot part.

I have a deep, undying love for heels. Not everyone knows this about me since I hoard them, but rarely ever wear them. By rarely ever I mean that I generally don't wear heels to work; I hate wearing things I like to work. It makes no sense, really, since I spend most of my waking hours there. I attribute this weird behavior to being my father's daughter. We once gave him a hammock for Father's Day, and it's still in the box three years later. He doesn't want the dogs to pee on it. I'm pretty sure he has other gifts stored away in his closet for safe keeping, too.

Before I met Nick I didn't own any flats. None. Nada. Okay, I did own flat flip flops and tennis shoes, but they don't really count. I was never attracted to flats, and I certainly would never, ever consider wearing flats out to a bar. I was a snob like that. Since I met Nick, though, I've purchased many a pair of flats. I can see the beauty in them now.

Even so, there isn't a pair of flats out there that will ever make me feel like heels make me feel. Heels make me feel less frumpy and more self-assured. My light shines brighter when they're on my feet. They ease my worries. Incidentally, I find that I'm buying more heels with this whole infertility thing. I say to myself: I started my period? I might as well buy a new pair of heels. If I can't be holding a sweet little baby in my arms, a red soled Louboutin is a nice consolation prize.

A Little Friday Shopping

I'm not stylish and this is certainly not a style blog. Heck, this isn't an anything blog, really. I just want the world to know today that I'm thankful for Old Navy and Kohls. I'm thankful for these tops at Old Navy (which are on sale):

and I'm thankful for these LC Lauren Conrad shoes at Kohls (also on sale!):

Has anyone been to Kohls lately? I really like the LC Lauren Conrad line. Her clothes are very feminine and girly. Is that redundant? Because I can't afford Anthropologie on a regular basis, good ol' Lauren Conrad fills that void. Vera Wang's Simply Vera collection also has some cute stuff and now there is even a Jennifer Lopez line. From the looks of it, J.Lo's pieces are a little too glamorous for my taste, a little too much faux fur, but I REALLY like this:

This photo does not do the top justice; it looks so much better in person. It's a beautiful grey, black and white tweed with buttons down the back. I saw it today and was, like, when and where can I wear this? I couldn't think of an answer to either question, so I didn't try it on. I'm thinking maybe now that I have a $20 coupon, I'll have to revisit Kohls and give it a go. It's so darn cute!

Predictable Me

Sometimes I like to think that I'm totally spontaneous and not at all predictable. And sometimes it just takes a little bottle of nail polish to prove me wrong. Take this one, for example:

I bought this at Target thinking that it was somewhat like the shades that I already have, but different enough to justify buying it.

Yeah, not so much...

In my defense, though, I do own hot pinks, corals, reds, and even a bottle of blue and a bottle of black! Of course I have many shades of the same hot pink, the same coral, and the same red. Totally predictable, I tell you.
